What to on show day?02 January 2017
It’s all been done, you’ve done all the training, you’ve done all the dieting, what else needs to be done? By now you should be feeling confident to showcase your hard-earned physique on that stage.
However, many many things can go wrong at this point. Make sure you have all these down before leaving for the competition venue!
- Bring Plenty Of Food
Make sure to bring plenty of food for yourself. You’ll need your meals and snacks to fuel your body for the rest of the day, especially if reporting time is early in the morning and showtime is in the evening.
The final carb up is extremely important and you wouldn’t want to be left looking flat and stringy on stage because you ran out of food.
For many, 50g carbs every 2h would suffice. However, many make the mistake of over-carbing because of the fear of not being full enough. Over-carbing risks you being soft and bloated on stage. You need to find your sweet spot. To play safe, stay just under 300g and you’ll be fine.
Get Your Tanning Top Coat
Your body is ready, you’re all dry and lean but you NEED the top coat with the bronzer to really stand out. Don’t skip this just because you’re afraid of the price.
Pumping Up Too Soon
Don’t make mistake of pumping up and tiring yourself out too soon. You’ll end up using the valuable glycogen stores and again, end up looking flat.
Forgetting To Smile
Your posing routine is just a routine but your expression is the hidden element that makes it look fun and interesting to watch. Smile! Be proud to show off your package you brought and smile because of all the glorious food you’re going to get to pig out on after the show.
The stage is yours. The spotlight’s on you. Good luck guys
